One of the finest beverage is venti iced caramel macchiato. It’s a bit of mystery for those who have never tried it. Starbucks is a very normal part of my routine as venti iced caramel macchiato is also my favorite drink.
Do you know what does the word Macchiato mean, anyway? And how do you pronounce it? Macchiato, pronounced “mah-key-ah-toh,” literally means “marked” or “stained” in Italian. Macchiato is an Italian word, meaning “marked” or “stained”. This word is frequently used to refer two distinct drink i.e. Caffe macchiato (venti iced caramel macchiato) and Latte macchiato.
In venti iced caramel macchiato the milk gets marked not once, but twice. First by shots of signature espresso and then by rich caramel sauce. Take off the lid and see a dot where the shots were poured through the milk foam, and the rich “cross-hatch” pattern made by caramel sauce. They are marks of an expert and unbeatable Macchiato.
The venti iced caramel macchiato has a bolder flavor than many other coffee drinks. It is comprised of a small amount of milk with a lot of espresso. Rather than thinking of ratios, it’s easier to view the macchiato as an espresso with a spot of milk in it. In fact, the word “macchiato” means “spotted” in Italian.
In Portugal, the macchiato is referred to as “cafe pingado”, or “coffee with a drop”. If you like your coffee to be strongly flavored, this drink is right up your alley.
Venti iced Caramel macchiato can have foam on it, but it’s usually a small layer of micro-foam to allow the taste of the espresso to shine. Using high quality espresso beans in macchiato is essential, as it’s the primary flavor of the drink.
